After School Care Club
St Stephen’s School After School Care Club (ASC) aims to provide pupils of all ages with a safe and fun place to end their school day.
The club is informal and friendly. The club provides for both, quiet space (for reading, etc.) and a free play area, as well as more structured activities. Play, rather than education, is at the heart of the club.
There are two timing slots available:
ASC Early – 3:20pm-4:30pm
ASC Late – 3:20pm – 6pm
Any Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children booked into our ASC in the hall will be taken to the hall where they will be handed over to a member of staff. Children in Years 3 to 6 will be allowed to walk through the school to the club. The club starts with a register, so all children are quickly accounted for.
Parents arriving to collect their child from ASC should go to the external hall door, accessible by the gate nearest the rectory.
Cost
ASC Early (3:20-4:30pm) is £5.25 per session, which includes a choice of snacks and fun activities.
ASC Late (3:20-6:00pm) is £10.50 per session, which includes a choice of snacks and fun activities.
Registering with ASC
Bookings can only be accepted for children who have activated ParentPay accounts. Please speak to the office if you need an activation letter.
Bookings/Payments
Please book a place on Parent Pay. Places can be booked a term at a time. Places are limited to a capacity of 40 children per session so please book in advance if possible.
Parents also have the flexibility to book ad-hoc sessions, where places are available, but the ASC requires a minimum of 24 hours notice.
Payment is required at the time of booking via ParentPay.
Non-Attendance
It is vital you inform us if your child is not attending the club, including through illness.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel a session your child is booked for please let us know as soon as you can, so that the places can be given to other children. Please note that refunds are only available if done a day in advance on ParentPay. The only exception to this rule is illness.
Staff
All members of staff are DBS-checked and hold appropriate qualifications in first aid, food hygiene, child and play work. In addition, at least one member of the school staff is always on site in case of emergency.
Communication
We aim for each child to be happy and comfortable at the after school club. You can help us by providing as much information as possible about their likes/dislikes during the attendance of their first session.
Any relevant information can be discussed briefly at drop-off and pick-up. If you have any more detailed issues that you would like to discuss with club staff, then you can arrange a mutually convenient time for a telephone call or short meeting outside of club operation times.
If you have any concerns about the way the club is being operated, please raise them in the first instance, with the Headteacher.
