Our Curriculum Offer
Our aim is to provide all our children with a highly engaging, exciting and aspirational curriculum that equips them with the knowledge, skills and attributes to thrive in the modern world.
The St Stephen’s cohort of pupils are at ‘the heart and mind’ when constructing our School Curriculum, of which the National Curriculum feeds into.
At the centre of our curriculum is a rich diet of high-quality children’s literature. Learning is inspired by picture books with the stories, illustrations, themes and settings in the books being used to provide stimuli and context for our broader curriculum.
We look for ways to motivate and challenge children, to help develop their skills as global citizens and active learners. Children are encouraged to reflect and develop their sense of self, so when they leave our school they have a strong sense of personal identity, self-belief and can make a positive contribution to society.
We aim to deliver consistently excellent teaching through a clear set of Pedagogical Principles, high expectations and cross-curricular learning. We achieve this through a deep and broad curriculum; incorporating key skills, knowledge-based learning and enquiry led opportunities relevant to the current climate.
We pride ourselves in providing a curriculum which holds true the Core Values of our School Vision and motto - ‘Let Your Hidden Treasure Shine!’
